National Conference -13th & 14th May 2010, Portlaoise, Ireland : Designing Sustainable Supports For Individuals and Taking a Lead from People with Disabilities and Families

Two members of FAST attended this conference where ideas for the full inclusion of people with disabilities into society were shared and discussed.

International Initiative Mental Health Leadership (IIMHL) / International Initiative for Disability Leadership (IIDL) Leadership Exchange & Network Meeting, 17th - 21st May 2010, Kilarney, Ireland

Under this exchange, FAST members visited several projects where ideas for the full inclusion of people with disabilities into community, were shared. A reciprocal arrangement has been made with the Irish host organisation to continue to share both experiences. Our FAST representatives also used the opportunity to visit projects and family with disabled people in Britain.

A common international theme that is apparent is the question how to fully include people with disabilities into our communities and help them to feel like valued members of society.
